Schiller students stage Shakespeare’s sonnets
Many of us have seen Shakespeare’s comedies and tragies performed on stage or even acted in the plays ourselves. His poetry, on the other hand, rarely gets the same theatrical attention. On April 4th, however, the students of class 9EU1 had the opportunity to participate in a drama workshop, in which they brought Shakespeare’s sonnets and more to life on stage.
Two professional performers and theatre educators from the English Theatre Berlin as well as one trainee theatre maker led the workshop and guided the students through theatrical approaches to understanding, experiencing, and performing Shakespeare’s sonnets.
