In February we took part in a professional development course ‘Discovering the Roots of Democracy’ in Athens. Not only did we deepen our historical understanding, but we also learnt about developing a more democratic culture within the classroom and school as a whole. We discovered lots of new practical methods using both experiential and the deep democracy communication method.  It was particularly valuable to share experiences and knowledge with participants from across Europe and we are looking forward to sharing what we learned with students and colleagues at Schiller.
