Athens, February 2026

As part of an Erasmus+ Training Programme, we had the opportunity to participate in the “A Happy Lesson: Valuable Tips to Create a Joyful Classroom course in Athens. The aim of the training was to learn new methods for making lessons more varied, motivating and interdisciplinary.

The course combines modern approaches to positive psychology with the idea of ‘eudaimonia’ from Aristotle's philosophy – that is, the pursuit of a fulfilled and successful life. In numerous practical workshops, we tried out playful methods, short activation exercises and team-building activities that make lessons more lively and strengthen the class community.

Particular focus was placed on strategies for promoting a positive learning environment, developing a growth mindset and the so-called 4Cs of learning: critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration.

In addition to professional exchanges with international colleagues, the stay in Athens also offered exciting cultural impressions. The ideas and materials gained will now be tested in class and should help to make learning at our school even more motivating and enjoyable.
