At the Schiller-Gymnasium we have a large and a small sports hall as well as a multifunctional field on the school grounds. There is also a 280 metre long running track around these facilities. We also have basketball courts on the multi-purpose field, which are used extensively during sports lessons and the long breaks.
Furthermore, our school also has access to other sports facilities. These include the Westend stadium, the "Nasses Dreieck" sports ground and the Uhland sports hall.
Also, in two sports work groups, pupils at Schiller-Gymnasium can give free rein to their interests after their regular lessons. They can choose between a basketball club and a football club.
In years 7 - 10, PE lessons take place for three hours in the regular branch (Regelzug) of the school and for two hours in the European branch (SESB). In years 11-12, sport-specific courses are offered. Pupils can choose these freely. On offer are badminton, athletics, gymnastics, swimming, gymnastics dance, fitness, rowing, skiing (depending on student interest), basketball, volleyball, handball and football.
Participation in various competitions as part of the “Jugend trainiert für Olympia” (JtfO) programme is also an important component of the sports department at Schiller-Gymnasium.
