Each year, a Diercke-Geography competition is held for classes 7-10. School winners are determined and they can move on to the competition on the next higher level, ending with a regional competition for Germany.
Furthermore, individual classes can take part in selected competitions, such as the poster competition OroVerde.
School competitions allow children and young adults possibilities to deal with specific geographical contents beyond their own classes. In these they can broaden and deepen knowledge and skills, work independently and stimulate interests, energy, purposefulness and creativity. What is more, students sometimes learn to work in teams in which they can compare skills and competencies with others, learning and building their own in the process.
